Archival Spatial Research

Critical cartographies of contested territory

Cadastre interrogates spatial politics and material systems through self-directed fieldwork, open-access survey plates, archival cartographies, and slow theoretical inquiry across contested territories.

Methodological Position

Cartography as political instrument

We reject commercial showcase renderings in favor of unhurried territorial fieldwork, examining how property lines, extractive infrastructures, and regulatory borders discipline daily life.

Fieldwork Tracts

Current territorial surveys

Tract 01 // Estuary

Thames tidal margins

Surveying intertidal logistics, sediment deposition rights, and post-industrial river access across twenty kilometers of lower Thames riparian zones through orthographic line drawings.

Tract 02 // Extractives

Pennine quarry strata

Axonometric studies documenting carboniferous limestone extraction, decommissioned rail spurs, and contested common land boundaries across northern upland topographies and quarries.

Tract 03 // Enclosure

Urban commonage registers

Tracing municipal boundary mutations and privatized civic easements through municipal land registry deeds, cadastral surveys, and historical deed overlays from 1888 to present.
